Summer Internships

If you are interested in a legal career or law enforcement, the Department of Justice offers a variety of internship opportunities for students.

Legal Internships

Each summer the department selects 30-plus law students to serve as legal interns. As a legal intern, your work assignments would include drafting appellate briefs, attending hearings and depositions, and organizing and drafting discovery responses.

You would also have the opportunity to interact with judges and lawyers, and attend a series of outside events, including a visit to the State Crime Lab.

Internships with the Attorney General's Office

Although these internship programs are unpaid, the department strongly encourages you to seek academic credit or financial assistance through grant programs.
