Warning Signs of Assault

Friends and family are often the first to learn or notice that someone may have been the victim of sexual assault and violence.
 
Here are some common signs to watch for:
 
  • Physical pain, bruising, or injuries
  • Changes in behavior
  • Depression and isolation
  • Decrease in self-esteem
  • Avoidance of public situations or specific people
  • Beginning or increase of drug/alcohol usage
