Attorney General Josh Stein Announces New Statewide Sexual Assault Kit Tracking System and $2 Million Grant to Test Sexual Assault Kits
In 2019, the NC general assembly passed the Survivor Act, requiring all law enforcement agencies to inventory untested sexual assault kits that were collected on or before January 1, 2018. Approximately 16,000 kits were identified around the state.
Below, you can see where we are today in processing and testing these previously untested kits. As this dashboard is updated live, it may take a few seconds to load. Thank you for your patience.
NOTE: The database below tracks untested kits that were collected on or before January 1, 2018. If you are looking for the status of a sexual assault kit that was collected AFTER January 1, 2018, please see the NC Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kit Tracking and Information System (STIMS).
