Victims & Citizens Services
Victims and Citizens Services provides direct assistance to the people of
North Carolina through a variety of innovative programs. We are here to educate
citizens about our justice system. We also help develop policy and legislation,
provide crime prevention programs, connect citizens with community resources,
and work with other agencies to coordinate Department of Justice services
for citizens.
Though the Attorney General's Office is prohibited by statute from advising
or representing private individuals, we can serve as a link to agencies and
organizations so that citizens can find the help they need.
Victims and Citizens Services can provide assistance in the following areas:
- Child Victim Assistance
- Child Identification Kits
- Domestic Violence
- Hate Crimes
- Open Government
- Victims Rights
- Senior Issues
- Identity Theft
